Hi. I'm Matt. This has been a place of regurgitation and frivolity (don't fret, it will continue to be) but, with any luck and a titch of effort, it will also become a place where I think, document and be more me than it has been previously. Run on sentence much?
I’m looking forward to the evolution of these icons. The light blue stripe that grounds Facebook branding is really terrific. Though right now, with the latest two apps, it bugs me that each stripe gets a different treatment. If there were just one more app (that was new) I wouldn’t be bothered as much because I’d feel like I knew the stripe had purpose or didn’t.
It’s VERY nit-picky, but what bothers me is that the camera receives a highlighted bezel line, while the flag does not. Or it bugs me that the flag gets a shadow, while the camera does not.
I don’t know how much it matters to me. I assume that these differences occur because different designers on different projects created the apps. Sooner or later, these are going to all come together and sit in the same environment, and then it’s really going to bother me.
I remember thinking, when iBooks and the News Stand were first announced, that themed folders could become a ‘thing’. The majority of people would LOVE themed folders. It’d be like MySpace themes; really, really ugly but really, really satisfying to the individual. Themes done right though, like when one company has several apps (like Facebook), could actually support the brand. I don’t know that I’m opposed to a Facebook folder; and I don’t even really LIKE Facebook!
Anyway, I didn’t mention Messages or the original Facebook app because they are old. I fully expect those icons to change. As a curious individual, I’ll be interested to see what they end up looking like.
Listen. It’s good.

Damnit, I knew that would happen.
Self-respect is a discipline, a habit of mind that can never be faked but can be developed, trained, coaxed forth.
I do this kinda stuff, yet it still blows my mind that people do this kinda stuff.
Tom and I have been working on Frameographer on and off for about 6 months. Like our other products, it was created to scratch our own itch. We were dissatisfied with the current offerings in the market and we wanted to make something really great, something that we enjoyed using. I can’t tell…
That time in *Colorado Springs* top score.. Share a memory from a place you’ve been.
